Cat Xtra is a new digital radio station, broadcasting on DAB Digital Radio in South Cheshire, online, on smart speakers, and via a mobile app across the universe.

The mission of Cat Xtra is simple: To be a platform for new music, all genres of music, and a place new presenting, broadcasting, DJ, and digital talent.

The people working on Cat Xtra have a track record of going on to work in the broadcasting and audio industries.

Cat Xtra is a live 24/7 real live radio station, and is place for discovery, experimentation, and exploration.

We’re always usually always figuring it out as we go, and we’re looking for people to be a part of the team and the process.

Cat Xtra is a part of The Cat Community Radio CIC. Everybody who works for the organisation is a volunteer, and volunteering is open to everyone.

If you’re into music, wanting to present your own radio show and DJ on air, maybe you’re interested in the behind the scenes of radio, or you’re interested in digital and online creation, we probably have a role that you can step into.

Work Experience

Cat Xtra, Cat Sport, and The Cat offer work experience opportunities to local school, college and university students.

We run placement opportunities throughout the year in a range of different areas and durations.

Some of our Work Experience students go on to become a part of the Cat Xtra team after their placement has finished.
